Dr. Fatorma Bolay

Dr. Fatorma Bolay, the director of the Division of Public Health Research at the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) has passed away. He was the director of the former Liberian Institute for Biomedical Research (LIBR) and DOLF-Project collaborator since 2011. Dr. Bolay navigated the LIBR through difficult times in Liberia and was a reliable collaborator for complex research projects in remote areas. He was instrumental for the first field evaluation of the filariasis test strip in his home county Lofa and helped to re-establish trust in mass drug administration to eliminate lymphatic filariasis after the Ebola outbreak in 2014. The DOLF team in St. Louis has lost a long-standing and respected collaborator.
