Study
Safety and efficacy of IDA as a mass drug administration regimen for elimination of lymphatic filariasis
Study Sites: Rotuma and Gau islands
This study compared the safety and efficacy of mass drug administration (MDA) with triple drug regimen of ivermectin, diethylcarbamazine, and albendazole “IDA” with the standard MDA treatment regimen of diethylcarbamazine (DEC) and albendazole “DA”. The results showed that IDA and DA had comparable safety profiles and that both regimens were acceptable to the population. Results from follow-up efficacy studies are pending.
