DOLF Says Goodbye to Postdoctoral Research Associate Dr. Adebiyi Adeniran

We would like to announce that Postdoctoral Research Associate Dr. Adebiyi Adeniran transitioned out of his role with DOLF at the end of August. While we are saddened to see him go, we are excited about his future opportunities. During his two years with DOLF, Adebiyi made significant contributions to our lab by using molecular and biotechnological techniques to design three candidate assays for the diagnosis of onchocerciasis. He also provided critical technical and operational support for our ongoing clinical trial on a novel treatment for onchocerciasis in Liberia and assisted in the external validation of assays developed by other research groups, including the NIH.

We are delighted to share that Adebiyi has assumed the role of Neglected Tropical Disease Advisor with RTI International’s Global Health Division. In this new position, he will work with governments across Africa, Asia, and the Americas to achieve their control and elimination goals for neglected tropical diseases (NTDs). We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Adebiyi for his invaluable contributions to our lab and field operations. We are excited to see him take on new challenges and continue making a substantial impact in the field of NTD control and elimination.
