The DOLF Project is one of the world’s leading research teams working on these parasitic diseases, bringing our findings from bench to village.

We conduct research ranging from laboratory studies of molecular biology and parasite biology to development of new diagnostic tests to field studies and clinical trials. We benefit from collaborations with other scientists at WashU Medicine and with many outstanding colleagues around the world.

Our basic research has led to important discoveries regarding the biology of parasitic worms. Our field studies have led to improved treatments with the potential to help eliminate these disabling and stigmatizing diseases. For people living in rural areas in the developing world, our work (and the work of many others in this field) aims to eliminate these diseases that affect individuals, their families and their communities. In doing so, we hope to make this a better world.
